From engaging YouTube content for young curious minds to high-impact Instagram reels for their grown-ups, you’ll lead the charge on short-form video and digital storytelling that stops the scroll, sparks curiosity, and drives ticket sales.
Fast-paced, hands-on, and full of creative freedom, this role is all about producing bold, playful content that reflects the energy of our visitor experience and connects with families across every platform.

Hours: 22.5 per week (0.6 FTE)
Location: Between both sites – Winchester Science Centre (WSC), Winchester, SO21 1HZ, and Wonderseekers HQ, Eastleigh, SO50 9DE. Onsite presence is essential for the majority of this role, however occasional remote working is possible for a small proportion of time – this can be discussed at the interview stage.
Work pattern: Flexible and will include some evenings and weekends. We are open to discussing how this role might fit with other work or priorities.
Salary: Between £30,000 - £32,500 per annum (1 FTE). Actual salary £18,000 - £19,500 (0.6 FTE).

Holiday: 148.5 hours per annum (equivalent to 25 days plus bank holidays full-time equivalent). Option to buy/sell some leave and gain additional days for continuous service after four years. The post-holder will not usually be expected to work bank holidays however when duties require, time off in lieu will be available.

The Charity runs Winchester Science Centre - a vibrant, hands-on experience for young children. Promising an exciting day out for families, with curriculum-linked trips for schools and an evening events programme, the Science Centre welcomes over 170,000 visitors every year. 1. The Role
The Digital Content and Brand Producer is a new role in the Commercial Operations team, designed to promote Winchester Science Centre. It is a pivotal creative role that is responsible for producing dynamic, audience-led content that reflects the vibrancy, ambition and inclusivity of our offer, and engages existing and new audiences to visit.
Working closely with the Head of Audiences and the Marketing Officer, you will lead the creation and delivery of digital-first content across all key platforms, with a particular focus on short-form social media video and YouTube storytelling that connects directly with children and families. From playful Instagram reels to engaging YouTube explainers, behind-the-scenes TikToks to campaign-driven content that converts. You’ll be at the forefront of our storytelling in ways that excite and inspire.
This is a high-output, hands-on production role. You’ll be ideating, scripting, storyboarding, filming, editing, publishing and analysing content (often within 48 hours!) with a strong focus on social video and visual storytelling. You’ll also play a key role in shaping and maintaining our digital brand identity, ensuring everything we share is bold, inclusive, science-rich and unmistakably Winchester Science Centre.
As part of the wider Commercial Operations team, led by the Chief Operating Officer, you’ll work in close collaboration with colleagues amplify campaigns, translate exhibitions and events into digital content, and ensure our brand and mission are consistently brought to life online.
At a time of exciting growth for the organisation - including the launch of major new experiences and a bold reimagining of our public offer and events programme – this role will ensure that our digital presence is as engaging, imaginative and curiosity-driven as the experience on site. 2. Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Head of Audiences and wider marketing team to co-create a dynamic digital engagement strategy rooted in audience segmentation and insight.
- Develop and deliver compelling, story-led digital content that supports Winchester Science Centre’s mission to spark curiosity in science, drive revenue through events, and boost ancillary spend whilst on site.
- Take the lead on producing high volumes of engaging, short-form social media content (particularly video, reels and behind-the-scenes footage) across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok to drive reach, engagement and ticket conversions.
- Work closely with the Marketing Officer to plan and manage a busy, responsive content calendar aligned with marketing campaigns, programme launches, fundraising activity and daily visitor engagement.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Officer to lead the development of YouTube content designed to directly engage children, including storyboarding, scripting, filming, editing and publishing
- Maintain and evolve Winchester Science Centre’s distinct digital brand identity, ensuring consistency in tone of voice, visual style and messaging across all platform
- Collaborate across departments to capture and translate real stories, exhibits and events into impactful digital formats.
- Proactively spot and respond to opportunities for timely, reactive content that showcases the vibrancy of the public offer.
- Monitor, analyse and report on digital performance (engagement, reach, click-throughs, video views, follower growth) to inform content decisions and boost impact.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, tools and platform features to keep Winchester Science Centre’s digital output fresh, relevant and competitive.
- Ensure all content complies with accessibility, safeguarding, copyright, and GDPR standards.
- Oversee content workflows, version control and digital asset management to support efficient content reuse and campaign planning.
- Brief and manage freelance creatives (e.g. videographers, animators, designers) as needed to scale output and bring specialist skills into key projects.
- Act as a digital brand guardian for Winchester Science Centre, championing playful, bold, science-rich storytelling.
- Represent the organisation externally at relevant sector events, networks and forums to share learning and maintain profile.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties in line with the role’s purpose and responsibilities.
Special Circumstances
There will be regular work, meetings and events in evenings, early mornings and at weekends as part of your regular working hours. Additional overtime would be arranged only with agreement of both the employee and line manager. Occasional travel may be required.
3. Person Specification
Essential skills and experience
- Proven track record of producing good-quality, high-volume digital content, with a strong focus on short-form social video for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube.
- Demonstrable experience managing a fast-paced content calendar aligned to campaigns, daily engagement, and reactive opportunities.
- Strong filming, editing and post-production skills using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro or equivalent.
- Excellent visual storytelling skills, with an eye for composition, pacing and brand tone.
- Experience building audiences and driving engagement through organic social strategies.
- Confident in interpreting digital performance data (e.g. engagement, reach, watch time, conversions) to inform and optimise content.
- A strong understanding of brand, tone of voice, and audience behaviour in a cultural or visitor attraction context.
- Familiarity with copyright, accessibility, safeguarding and GDPR requirements in digital content production.
