Ben Ward FRSA is our Chief Executive. He joined us in 2014 as Director of Operations and has led Wonderseekers since 2016, through a decade of transformation and growth.

Under Ben’s leadership our income has grown by more than two and a half times. We have invested over £3.8m in Winchester Science Centre, which welcomes more than 200,000 visitors a year, including over 40,000 school visitors. In 2026 Science Projects, specialist exhibit designers and makers, joined Wonderseekers, taking our work to museums and science centres across the UK and Europe.

Ben has put impact at the heart of everything we do. Since 2016 we have engaged more than 1.2 million children and families, with programmes focused on priority audiences: the children and young people who face the greatest barriers to science. He is passionate about equality, diversity and inclusion, and about helping young people build a lasting connection with nature, including through our chalk grassland nature reserve in the South Downs National Park.

Beyond Wonderseekers, Ben chairs Silverstone University Technical College and is a former Chair of the UK Association for Science and Discovery Centres.
