Charlie Director of Communications

We’re delighted to have been selected for Mindsets + Missions, a new learning and grants programme funded by UK Research and Innovation. This programme supports museums and science centres to engage underrepresented groups with knowledge, research and innovation.

The programme brings together 45 museums, science and discovery centres, and changemaker individuals from across the UK.

Using the concept of 'future citizens', the group will consider strategies that enable people who bring diverse and plural perspectives to engage with, influence and participate in the development of the knowledge, research and innovation that our future societies will be built on. Members bring expertise across cultural, heritage, creative and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and maths) learning and engagement.

We're invested in sustainable community eco-systems

For the first phase of the programme, between March and April 2023, the cohort will explore the missions that drive this work and the mindsets that go towards achieving their shared aims. Development funding and stipends will support the involvement of each of the participating organisations and individuals.

“Wonderseekers is invested in the idea of ‘sustainable community eco-systems'. We're utilising existing community networks to facilitate and support children’s participation in science-based activities that respond to local needs and concerns.  We're looking forward to joining the Mindsets + Missions cohort to learn from others and share our own findings and experience.”

Mindsets + Missions is funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).
